Job DescriptionThe Advanced Flight Simulation Center at the Daytona Beach Campusis currently accepting applications for the position of Lead FlightSimulation Engineer.The Lead Flight Simulation Engineer provides engineering services,technical expertise, and team skills necessary to maintain the highquality performance of the Flight Simulation and Training Device(FSTD) fleet at the Daytona Beach campus. Provides engineeringservices and technical support to ensure fleet compliance withregulatory requirements and pilot training needs. Will participatein the design/development, acquisition, relocation, installation,operation, and management of Flight Simulation and Training Devices(FSTDs) and the Distributed Simulation Network and will assist withthe maintenance of the Simulator-Quality Management System (S-QMS),as well as the recruitment, training, and supervision of centerpersonnel.Provides scheduled and unscheduled engineering and support to FSTDsand associated systems: Develops Software Programs, Tools, and Utilities: Conducts analysis, review, and resolution of critical networkperformance and functionality problems.Installs and configures data network infrastructure,maintaining documentation and critical operationalinformation.Determines Root Cause (RC) and resolves discrepancies reportedby training crews, the FAA, and support staff.Diagnoses and isolates problems to component or sub-assemblylevel.Replaces or repairs components to return FSTDs to regulatorycompliance.Performs calibration, adjusting, and tuning of FSTDs andrelated systems.Develops, installs, and maintains visual scenery database.Performs special redesign and enhancement projects.
