Marshfield wrestling dominates Wausau East, clinches at least a share of WVC title

first_imgTigers earn six pins in road winBy Paul LeckerSports ReporterWAUSAU — The Marshfield wrestling team clinched at least a share of the Wisconsin Valley Conference regular-season title with a 77-6 rout of Wausau East on Thursday at Wausau East High School.The Tigers won all but one match to improve to 5-0 in the WVC this season. Marshfield, which has not won a conference championship since 1958, can finish off an undefeated title with a win over Wausau West next Thursday at home. The conference tournament is Feb. 4 at Stevens Point.Shane Westerhausen (106 pounds), Brayden Richardson (126), Nolan Hertel (145), Payton Young (152), Conner Peterson (195), and A.J. Leonhardt (285) all won by pin for Marshfield.
